Birthday Card Update

Well I have to say, sticking to my new years resolution was good until April! I have 2 months of cards to catch up on, but here are the cards I sent for February and March!

For my Uncle who loves his tools. I have this wonderful diamond plate embossing folder that I used on a "Mr. Fix It" page and it is my go-to item for guys. The paper is also left over from the same page.

One of my cousins it typical all-boy-dare-devil-motorcycles- and anything that goes fast. So I pulled out the same embossing folder and my aluminum foil tape. I found that at Home Depot by the Duct Tape. Or Tim Holtz sells full sheets of it I think. Then cut the motorcycle from my cricut and it was the perfect card. The happy birthday is from Stampin Up.

I needed something quick and simple for this cousins birthday. I saw something similar to this in a magazine and filed it in the back of my head to use someday. Quick triangles on the cricut, a stampin up birthday phrase and this card was done in no time. Paper from My Mind's Eye, Lime Twist

I adore this paper line from Echo Park. It is called This and That. I usually struggle with manly cards, but these colors are just perfect. This uncle used to be a boyscout so the campground makes sense. and I love to add twine to everything lately!

There are a couple other cards that went out that I didn't get pictures of. So sad! I also have a Mother's Day card I did coming up soon!

Thanks and come again!

Starting Fresh!

I blog and I disappear, and I blog and I disappear. I sense a trend.... It's time to break it!

Unfortunately I have had to stop doing my monthly club at a local crop for personal reasons. But that is just the perfect motivation to focus more on my own scrapbooking and blog!

I just bought a personal photo printer on a GREAT deal from Quick Quotes and Cannon so I can't wait to start printing my pictures and getting them in scrapbooks! I am only about 5 years behind! LOL

I have also started a new facebook page to go along with this blog. Please come "like" me here: http://www.facebook.com/MemoryTreasuresByLiz

So in the next couple of weeks I am going to play catch up on things I have done while I wasn't posting. Then look for all new creations from me!

I am still vowing to keep up with my new years resolution of a birthday card for everyone in my family this year. I also have an album I am doing for my co-worker so I will post pictures of layouts as I get them done.

So lots of new things coming! Stay tuned :)

I'm back! (again)

Heeeeeeellllllllooooooo!!!!!!

I am back yet again. I tend to get into blogging and then get so many things going on that this is the first thing to take a break.... maybe my new year's resolution next year should be to blog more regularly.....

Well Kathy from For Fun Challenges, who I guest designed for a couple months back, contacted me and asked me to come back!

What a perfect reason to get blogging again! :)

So this weeks challenge is

Bunny- No Easter

KnK sponsored this weeks' challenge but had to close its doors last month. They still honored their commitment to sponsor and you will win the digi images the design team got to play with!

I really had to rack my brain for this one. As soon as she said no Easter, all I could think of were Easter bunny cards! lol. But somewhere in my searching I came across the perfect Dr. Seuss quote to go with this cute bunny image

It says "The more that you read, the more you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go" Perfect for a un-typical graduation card, and it just so happens that I have a cousin graduating from high school in a couple months.

I used Stampin Up markers to color in my cute bunnies and their books. Regal Rose, Creamy Carmel, Temping Turquoise and Always Artichoke. Then used Quick Quotes Pink Cheeks to sponge the edges of my quote. The paper is from Echo Park Co's "a walk in the park" line. I have a 6x6 pad of theirs.

Well I hope you enjoyed this card and maybe this challenge will get you motivated to start crafting again like it did for me!

I have lots to catch you up on in the next couple of weeks. I am still going strong with my New Years Resolution of a birthday card for everyone in my family. And I have Ministry scrapbook pages to share. Along with Quick Quotes news! So stay Tuned!

For Fun Challenges - Get Well/Feel Better

Goooooooood Morning!!!

Today is my last day as guest designer at For Fun Challenges. They have been really great and fun to work with. This week they have the challenge of Get Well/Fell Better. This weeks sponsor is

The winner this week will get their choice of 3 digital images!!! How fun!!!

They were kind enough to send me a couple images and I just knew I had to use this cute nurse. I have never used digi images before this but it was so easy! I had a spare paint can laying around so I got the idea to make a "Sick Kit". Everything you need for when your sick all in one place! Or it could make a GREAT get well gift.
So here is the can empty and some detail shots
I printed out the digi image, colored it with my SU Markers and used an exacto knife to cut out the details.

The pattern paper went on the inside of the can. On the outisde I added a MS Border Punch and some buttons, bling, ribbon and flowers from my stash.

I used some Melissa Frances crepe paper on the side and some Teresa Collins bling stick pins

Here is my can all full of goodies!  I added a teal washcloth, some vicks (that you can't see), a thermometer, Lipton tea, cough drops and bandaids!

Here is the full can straight on

I love my can. I think it will go perfectly on the shelf in my bathroom. I hope some of you join us at For Fun Challenges this week for the Get Well/Feel Better Challenge!

Continuing my New Years Resolution

Hello again!!!

Today is my cousin Kim's birthday. I know I'm bad that I didn't make the card until today : /
And since the post office is closed tomorrow she won't get it until later this week, but she will get it!

Wee Memories last challenge started today. I will miss these challenges. They offered a sketch for today. I am also entering my 3rd project into UnstampaBelles Anything Goes Challenge.

I loved the papers I used for my Guest Design Team Project for this week at For Fun Challenges (Come back Wednesday to see it and remember you have until Tuesday to play along with the anything goes challenge) so I wanted to use them again. I had some great Melissa Frances birthday stickers that went with them perfectly. Here is what I created

I also used a Tim Holtz texture fade, some bling and a flower from my stash and some Mud Puddles I got for Christmas. What is a Mudd Puddle? The one I used is there in the center of the flower. It is colored sand all in glue. It is great! I just took my spatula and globbed some out for the center of my flower and let it dry. I didn't have to mess with glue and messy lose sand. I also used Quick Quotes Purple Passion ink on the paper and flower.

I hope you and my cousin like the card.
