Countdown to Christmas - 4 days!! with MCCR

Welcome back!

What a perfect theme for today since we are getting hit with our first snow storm here in Ohio!

Today with My Cricut Craft Room, we are doing a winter theme!

I made these gift card holders using Teresa Collins December 25th.
I cut all the different snowflakes at 2 inches. I covered the holder on the left with Tim Holtz Tissue Wrap and the one on the left with Tim Holtz Tissue Tape. Added a little bit of stickles and they are done!

I love these quick easy but beautiful techniques.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend!!

Shape Card with Just a Scrappin

Welcome back!

This weeks challenge with Just A Scrappin is to

Make a card that is not square or rectangle!!

Here is my take:
I adore the way this turned out. A perfect card for my boyfriend's grandma if you ask me :)

Here is how I did it:

I cut a bell from the Teresa Collins December 25 Cricut Cart (I believe it was about 4inches) and taped it to the top edge of a folded piece of cardstock the color I wanted my card base to be. Make sure you let some of the top of the design hang off to keep part of the fold intact. This is what will hold your front and back together!

Trace around and take the "template" (the blue piece) off.

Cut on the lines making sure to leave a little piece of the folded edge of your card intact
And that it! Super simple!

Here is what it looks like open

Then just decorate as you want :)
I used the Teresa Collins December 25 cartridge again for all of the cuts on the front of the card. I added some silver stickles on the Joy to give it more interest. There are also red stickles on the holly berries.
The bottom of the bell is Melisa Frances silver glass glitter. Its super chunky and I love it!

Then I just put a simple stamp on the inside.

I hope you join us this week! I would love to see your take on this great challenge at Just A Scrappin!!

Countdown to Christmas - 14 days!! with MCCR

Welcome back!!
OMG, only 14 more days! I better start my Christmas cards soon!! lol.

Today's theme with My Cricut Craft Room is to

Use a Licensed Cartridge!

I have been trying to stick with a Christmas/Winter theme for this month's projects so Hello Kitty Friends was a perfect choice!

These are more gift card holders made for the office craft show using Stampin Up's Top Note Die.

Both cricut cuts are cut at 2.5 inches. Pretty small to work with, but my holders were small. Ideally I wish these would have been closer to 3.5 inches to make it easier. The snowman wasn't bad, but hello kitty was lots of little pieces. But of course she came out wonderfully.

I hope you enjoy and this gives you some motivation to pull out the carts you forgot had Christmas stuff on them!!

Non-Traditional Christmas with Just a Scrappin

Welcome back!

This week with Just A Scrappin' we are doing

Non-Traditional Christmas Cards
no green and no red!!

Love it! I didn't do a card, I made a gift card holder. Lots of those again this year.
The base is cut from Stampin' Up's Top Note Die. You fold your paper in half and line is up so that the folded edge is inside the cut line (so it doesn't cut) and you get a cute little folder. Just remember to make a pocket for the inside!

I decided on a neutral color pallet for my card. The stamps are from Stampin Up, Dasher and Christmas Greetings. I stamped them in Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink and used the same ink to ink the edges of the cream cardstock. The square with Dasher on it is also glimmer misted in Crocheted Doily (though it is hard to see in the picture). I added some brown fiber and ribbon from my stash and a piece of Cappuccino twine.  Add 3 dots of gold stickles and we are done!

I hope you join us in this week's challenge!! Have a great weekend
:)

Countdown to Christmas - 22 Days!! with MCCR

Welcome back!!

Today's theme with My Cricut Craft Room is
Angel

I am in the process of making some gift card holders for sale at work so you will be seeing a lot of these in the next couple of days.

The Angel is from Christmas Noel cut at 2.5 inches. I did both layers white and added diamond stickles to her wings.

I put some strips of Tim Holtz tissue tape behind the angel to ground her and I am done!

So cute and so simple. Make sure to check out My Cricut Craft Room to see what else my design team sisters have done :)

Hope this gets you in the crafty mood!

Turkey with Just A Scrappin'

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!!

I hope you are taking today to spend time with your friends and family. Make sure to tell those who are special to you, just how special they are!

This week's challenge with Just A Scrappin' is

TURKEY!!

I used a craft card base and found some pattern paper from my stash. I have been trying to use up scraps lately. This was left over from a layout I did long ago. I cut a small square and used a ruler and brown marker to give it a frame.

I used Celebrate with Flourish, my new and current favorite, cricut cartridge! The turkey is cut at 2.5 inches. Then I added some platinum stickles in the corner to draw your eye there even more.

I hope you join us this week and enjoy your holiday weekend!!

ANYTHING GOES!!

:)

I worked on a layout for my co-worker's album. She wanted a sisters page to put pictures of her two girls together on.

I used some felt flower borders I had and added stickles to the middle to make them pop

Sister is cut from Teresa Collins

I used Quick Quotes Powder Puff Inks in Purple Passion, Blue Hawaiian and Lemonade to ink around the edges of the paper. The paper is an old stack from DCWV.

Hope you like my page and will play with us this week at Just A Scrappin'!!

I pulled some coordinating ribbon from my stash and used Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to make little flags by the journal lines.

New York Page and Winner!!!

Sometime this month I will get to some pages for myself, but for now, I am continuing to share the pages I am working on for my co-worker. Her family took a trip to New York that she wanted to include in her scrapbook. I still had a sketch saved from when DCWV used it as one of their monthly challenges that I knew I wanted to use eventually. I was looking through my paper and wanted to use paper with red in it, since I knew I had to put an apple on the page for New York and found this wonderful (but sad that it is discontinued) paper line from Quick Quotes called Ode to Joy. You might recognize it from my Father's Day Card.

I followed the sketch pretty closely since I loved it so much!
I used Blue Hawaiian and Maraschino Cherry Powder Puff inks
Close up of the title. I used the skyline from Plantin Schoolbook and added some stickles for city lights.

I knew I had to put an apple somewhere on the page, and it is such a perfect spot for journaling!
The strip of bling is from Mon Ami Gabby. It is a whole wide pice of bling that I cut apart into a couple strips. You can see one here, there is one under the title and another one further over on page 2.

My mom has this awesome Statue of Liberty Stamp that I knew I wanted to use. I stamped it with Blue Hawaiian on one of the pattern papers from this line and edged it with stickles.

And now for the winner of my blog candy giveaway. Sorry I was late on this!

comment number 4!!!

Which happens to be KathleenK aka My mom!

I think that is fitting since my mom always supports me so much in all the crafty things I do. Thank you for everything mom! I will bring you your prize soon!

The Hood!

I'm back today continuing with pages I have done for my co-worker. Also, these are not counting towards my June goaks since I did these in May. (but it is counting towards my blog posts!!! LOL)

They call their neighborhood The North Doovys Hood so I made a page to put all those neighborhood cookouts and get togethers.
I used a My Mind's Eye paper pack that I had on hand.

I added some stickles throughout the pages to give some interest

You can see more stickles on the birds. So cute!
I thought this came together very well and the colors are just perfect for summer cookouts and gatherings.
Next week I have layouts for Soccer and Graduation! Make sure to follow me so you don't miss all the updates happening lately :)

Also make sure to stop by my facebook page (link on the left) to get your own custom designed 12x12 page from me!!!

Baby Girl

My co-worker asked me to do a book for her daughter who is graduating this year. I have many pages to do from birth to graduation but we started with some of the big events to have done for her graduation party.

I wanted to do a birth page since that is where we all start. I had purchased this great Teresa Collins paper pack on one of the deal-a-day sites (I don't remember which one now). Pink really isn't my thing so I wasn't sure when I would be using this paper. But when I was going through my stash to see what I had, I thought Bingo! Perfect!

I used some white glitter paper to create the border. I cut 1/4 in strips and cut the corners to make them all fit around the page.

I used my new Stampin Up Banner punch for both banners and added some buttons and bling from my stash, along with Stone twine from the Twinery.
I borrowed some baby stamps from my mom and stamped them in Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink in Pink Cheeks. I also used the Midnight Confession to ink other elements.

I have to say, even though pink may not be my thing, I absolutely LOVE this page!
