Celebration with Just A Scrappin'

Hello again everyone!!

Today I am sharing a card for the Just A Scrapping Challenge this week

Celebration using Pink, Blue and White with 3 pearls or rhinstones

Sometimes is great working with something so specific :)
I started looking through my stash and saw my Melissa Frances Crepe Paper that has pink and blue in it and went from there. Here is what I came up with:

I used Shore and Blossom twine from the Twinery for the background and the middle of the Stampin Up Pennant punch. I punched the middle triangle of the pennant, ran it through my xyron and covered it in pieces of twine. Just trim the edges and you have your original shape :) Then added it to the scalloped pennant piece from the punch

The Celebrate stamp is also from Stampin Up in a set called Everything Nice. I colored it with Stampin Up Markers in Regal Rose and Bashful Blue on another white piece and pop dotted it. The pearls are from Queen and Co.

I really used a variety of companies on this one! I love the way you can really mix and match your stash of stuff!

I think this would be a great birthday card, or to celebrate a new baby arriva.

Check back on my post from yesterday to enter to win some great product from Quick Quotes since I am their guest designer for August!!

I'll be back next week with some more cards and another Quick Quotes project! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

*you have a week, until 7/26/12 to claim your prize*

So on to my card for today!

I went searching through the challenge blogs I follow and 3 of them are hosting challenges that just all came together in my head.
Anything Goes: Lavender & Lace
Craft Your Days Away: Doily & Lace

I had done a card similar to this one here and I  LOVED it. So I wanted to do it again but make it a little different.

I went searching for a stamp set to put a sentiment in the middle of the doily and this set from Stampin Up just jumped right out at me! What a perfect card to send to my cousin who just had a baby :)

Hope you like it and hope my cousin does too!

So Late Mother's Day Card

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

I would normally post something patriotic today, but I haven't made anything recently. Guess that means tonight I must take lots of pictures to scrapbook later and be able to show you next holiday!

Don't forget to enter the WEDDING challenge over at Just A Scrappin by the end of the night tonight!

On to the card for today!

Well the good news is that I did give this card to my mom on Mother's Day. I was just going through my camera and realized I never shared!

My boyfriend didn't think I could make a nice card in under 10 minutes. Challenge accepted!

I needed two, one for my mom and one for his. I handed him a magazine and told him to pick one he liked and I would work from that.

I used Echo Park's Victoria Gardens 6x6 paper, buttons, ribbon, and flowers from my stash, twine in stone, want2scrap swirl pearls and quick quotes lemonade ink.

I think it turned out great. And since I was hand delivering and not mailing, I could use those big flowers and not worry about it getting torn up while going through the mail sorter :)

Challenge won!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday! I'll be back tomorrow with a manly card!

Fussy Cutting

So to break from all the layouts I have been doing, today I am finally starting to get caught up on past due birthday cards! I don't want to break my new years resolution so I am starting back with birthdays from April! This one happens to be for my mom. I know, of all the cards to miss, this one should not have been it!!

You might recognize the paper from a layout I did earlier. When I showed my mom the page, she loved the paper line so I got out the scraps I had left over to get working. The paper is from My Mind's Eye and their June challenge is fussy cutting! How perfect :)
The flowers and the saying are from a set of border strips that I cut apart. I put part of the title on the front and the rest on the inside below. I inked everything in Quick Quotes Powder Puff ink in Mai Tai.
I added a couple more flowers from the border without the stems. then put some pearls on the flowers and it was done!

Cute simple and quick card for the most wonderful mother.

Check back tomorrow for my father's day card! I normally don't post on the weekends, but I want to get it in before Sunday :)

Happy Crafting!

2 Page Layout

Hello again!

Today I am showing you the final project I created for the Quick Quotes Design Team Application. I already created a card and a project so I knew I had to do a layout!

I found this sketch from sketchsavvy from back in May of 2010. It is amazing how sketches can last the test of time. I knew I wanted something with clean lines and I just thought this was perfect.

I went through my Quick Quotes stash and  pulled out my Patsy's Paradise line. The colors and phrases were perfect for my trip last summer to a place in Ohio called Put-in-Bay. Then I went through my Quotes binder and saw that I had some die cut sheets from this paper line as well. Even better! So I found some quotes to go with my papers and got to work.

I didn't really give the page a title since I know this won't be the first page in the album for this trip. I inked everything in Tahiti Quick Quotes ink.

I added some pearls to the center of this flower to make it a little more interesting. I also wrapped some baker's twine around the cream ribbon.

As soon as I saw this Flip Flop Vellum I knew I had to use it. I was in flip flops all weekend but the only picture of my feet is on this layout. I added some more of the twine on the tags.

The quote that runs along the bottom of the page and this square came from the same sheet of paper. I cut a slit above and below the phrase so I could slide my heart behind it. I added another tag with twine for my last quote.

I am also entering this in UnstampaBelles Challenge: Anything goes & No Stamps (entry 2 of 3) and
Anything Goes Challenge Blog: Anything goes (entry 2 of 2)

Well I hope you enjoyed my Design Team application. I had a great time making these items. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I get picked!
