Eternally Yours

Their challenge is to use any past challenge!
So I started looking through the challenges to see what inspired me and I found Challenge #19. Use Red, Black and White!
Those just happen to be my favorite colors :)

I started digging and remembered a wonderful DCWV stack called Immortal Love. So I looked up DCWV's card sketch for this month and got started.

I started out thinking I was going to stay pretty true to the sketch, but my doiley was bigger than I thought it was! It was a white doiley that I inked with Quick Quotes Poweder Puff ink in Midnight Confession and Marchino Cherry. The ribbon is from my stash.

The sticker is from Creative Imaginations. It worked so perfectly with the papers! The bling is from Want2Scrap.

I think I will hold onto this to use for my boyfriend the next time he does something nice. Which, knowing him, will be soon :)

Thanks for joining me this week.

Next week I have another card, another layout and my first design team project!

Have a great weekend :)

New York Page and Winner!!!

Sometime this month I will get to some pages for myself, but for now, I am continuing to share the pages I am working on for my co-worker. Her family took a trip to New York that she wanted to include in her scrapbook. I still had a sketch saved from when DCWV used it as one of their monthly challenges that I knew I wanted to use eventually. I was looking through my paper and wanted to use paper with red in it, since I knew I had to put an apple on the page for New York and found this wonderful (but sad that it is discontinued) paper line from Quick Quotes called Ode to Joy. You might recognize it from my Father's Day Card.

I followed the sketch pretty closely since I loved it so much!
I used Blue Hawaiian and Maraschino Cherry Powder Puff inks
Close up of the title. I used the skyline from Plantin Schoolbook and added some stickles for city lights.

I knew I had to put an apple somewhere on the page, and it is such a perfect spot for journaling!
The strip of bling is from Mon Ami Gabby. It is a whole wide pice of bling that I cut apart into a couple strips. You can see one here, there is one under the title and another one further over on page 2.

My mom has this awesome Statue of Liberty Stamp that I knew I wanted to use. I stamped it with Blue Hawaiian on one of the pattern papers from this line and edged it with stickles.

And now for the winner of my blog candy giveaway. Sorry I was late on this!

Which happens to be KathleenK aka My mom!

I think that is fitting since my mom always supports me so much in all the crafty things I do. Thank you for everything mom! I will bring you your prize soon!

Continuing my New Years Resolution

Hello again!!!

Today is my cousin Kim's birthday. I know I'm bad that I didn't make the card until today : /
And since the post office is closed tomorrow she won't get it until later this week, but she will get it!

Wee Memories last challenge started today. I will miss these challenges. They offered a sketch for today. I am also entering my 3rd project into UnstampaBelles Anything Goes Challenge.

I loved the papers I used for my Guest Design Team Project for this week at For Fun Challenges (Come back Wednesday to see it and remember you have until Tuesday to play along with the anything goes challenge) so I wanted to use them again. I had some great Melissa Frances birthday stickers that went with them perfectly. Here is what I created

I also used a Tim Holtz texture fade, some bling and a flower from my stash and some Mud Puddles I got for Christmas. What is a Mudd Puddle? The one I used is there in the center of the flower. It is colored sand all in glue. It is great! I just took my spatula and globbed some out for the center of my flower and let it dry. I didn't have to mess with glue and messy lose sand. I also used Quick Quotes Purple Passion ink on the paper and flower.

I hope you and my cousin like the card.

Something New with Color!!!

Happy new year everyone!

It is that time a year for new year's resolutions! Most people have typical goals: lose weight, save money (which are 2 of mine as well lol). But I wanted a different resolution!

My mom inspired me for this one. She is normally pretty good about sending out a card to each family member around their birthday. I say around because some tend to be a couple of days late and I am giving myself that time frame as well. So my new year's resolution is to send everyone in my family a birthday card. Doesn't sound too bad huh? Well there are 28 of us of my mom's side! And one of my cousins is pregnant so I am adding the baby to the list to make a total of 29 cards! That is more cards than I have ever made in 1 year!

There are 3 birthdays in the first week of January! So for my first card for my Aunt Dawn I went to check out some challenge blogs for inspiration.

Play Date Cafe's color challenge was this great combination:
Very typical Christmas. But since we are past christmas time, I wanted to use the colors in an untypical way. I pulled out a 6x6 paper pack from Echo Park's Victoria Garden line and found the perfect paper.
I love the pink and green roses. But I had to make sure I got red in there so I made this tissue paper rose that I saw on Tim Holtz's blog during the 12 tags of Christmas.

I love the way it turned out! I added a pre-made flower for the center of my tissue flower, some bling and I was done!

So that is my "Something New" for For Fun Challenge Blog's challenge this week too! My New Year's Resolution! Wish me luck throughout the year!

Also this week is my cousin's husband Tim and little cousin Manny.
Tim's card will be a special one. He is the lucky guy with a birthday close enough to get the card I am making as my project for a Guest Designer next week! Check back on the 11th to find out where and see my masculine card.

Christmas Cards 2012

Merry Christmas!!!

I wanted to share my Christmas Card for this year. I knew I wouldn't have a ton of time to work on them with all my other crafty projects I am doing as gifts so I choose a simple card to make. I love the way it turned out!!

DCWV mat stacks made this card super quick and easy. I used their Christmas mat stack from this year. I cut 1inch strips from different pattern papers. I didn't have to cut the other length since I was using the mat stack so just 1 cut! I told you these were quick. I cut the reindeer (that may look familiar to you, I told you it was my new favorite Cricut cut!) from Christmas Solutions Cartridge. I added a red bling to make it Rudpoph and used Close to Cocoa Stampin Up marker to color the lines on the cut and the feet.

Hope this goes to show that hand made cards don't have to take forever! There is still time to make yours :)

2 cards in 1 night

I had one night to get 2 cards done last week for this weekend. The good news is that I got them done! There really isn't bad news.... yay!

The first card was for a wedding for my boyfriend's cousin's wedding this past Saturday. We talked about go-to cards last week, and this is definitely my go-to card for a wedding. I used all neutral colors since I wasn't sure what her wedding colors were.
The heart is an old punch I got from somewhere.... I cut 1/2in strips of paper in black gray and silver (the silver is from SU! the other paper is from a paper by the pound local store) and weaved them together. Glued that behind the heart punch and layered like so. The pearls are just pre-stuck bling I had in my stash.
The second card I needed was for my boyfriend. This Sunday was our 1 year anniversary. I didn't want to make anything to mushy and girly for him, but it had to be right for the occasion. Here is what I came up with
Sorry, the lighting for these pictures was horrible. I don't have the best lighting in my apartment.....
So this was made with pattern paper from an old DCWV paper stack. I used a white base with pattern paper on top. I used SU!'s top note die for the main focus mat. The 3 punches from SU!'s label punch were from a matching pattern paper from DCWV. The stamp is from SU!'s Sage Advice and I used bliss blue to stamp and to sponge the die cut. Again, I used some random pre-stuck bling to finish it off. The boyfriend loved it, along with the wall mounted guitar holder I got him :)
