Crop Projects

Back in March, the crop that I attend held a 2 1/2 day weekend crop. For that event, I did more than just my normal 2 page 12x12 layout. I did 6 different classes! (I don't have a picture of the card class I did. Ops!) They were a ton of fun and it was nice to create something other than a layout for some of them.

"Oh Happy Day" - 1page 12x12 layout. I was trying a clean and simple version of a white space layout. I love the way it turned out. I can't help but put banners on everything right now!

I of course still had to do a 2 page 12x12 layout. This class sold out so fast I went to the store to buy more supplies to do more kits! The yellow/black/gray is so hot right now! My favorite part is the black tulle on page 2. You can buy it in a roll in the flowers section of your craft store. I just tied a knot in the middle and wrapped the ends around to the back.

5 different flowers! The rose in the bottom left corner is something my mom makes with her eyes closed! Everytime a new group of ladies see it, they want to learn it. So that turned into a 5 flower class. The accordian flower and the fabric flower I learned at Quick Quotes Private Reserve. I got the tissue flower from Tim Holtz's blog and the wrap flower is just ribbon wrapped around a round slide mount. What fun!

I wanted to do something fun for the kids. I created this Party Kit with a cute circus theme for boy or girl. There is a gift bag, decorated water bottle, cupcake topper (with the star and clown) and a place setting with either a tight rope walker for girls, or a strong man for boys. Inside the name tag is room for hershey kisses!!

When I saw a can like this on the Bo Bunny blog, I knew I had to re-create it. It was the most challenging of all my projects. I found the paper I loved by Imaginesce and went to work. I ended up rolling the paper around a pencil and using red line tape to glue it together. Then I grouped the rolled papers into 4 or 5 rolls, taped them together and placed them in the pail until I got all the way around. I felt like I needed about 5 hands for this one! But I adore the way it turned out. I added a border stip at the top and bottom and fussy cut out some images from one of the pattern papers for the front. We added some easter grass inside to make the perfect little easter basket!

Hope you enjoyed the class pictures. I will be back later this week with my last update before I start with new creations! I have my January, February and March class pages to share. I have to tell you, March is my favorite page from classes that I have done!

See you later!

For Fun Challenges - Get Well/Feel Better

Goooooooood Morning!!!

Today is my last day as guest designer at For Fun Challenges. They have been really great and fun to work with. This week they have the challenge of Get Well/Fell Better. This weeks sponsor is

The winner this week will get their choice of 3 digital images!!! How fun!!!

They were kind enough to send me a couple images and I just knew I had to use this cute nurse. I have never used digi images before this but it was so easy! I had a spare paint can laying around so I got the idea to make a "Sick Kit". Everything you need for when your sick all in one place! Or it could make a GREAT get well gift.
So here is the can empty and some detail shots
I printed out the digi image, colored it with my SU Markers and used an exacto knife to cut out the details.

The pattern paper went on the inside of the can. On the outisde I added a MS Border Punch and some buttons, bling, ribbon and flowers from my stash.

I used some Melissa Frances crepe paper on the side and some Teresa Collins bling stick pins

Here is my can all full of goodies!  I added a teal washcloth, some vicks (that you can't see), a thermometer, Lipton tea, cough drops and bandaids!

Here is the full can straight on

I love my can. I think it will go perfectly on the shelf in my bathroom. I hope some of you join us at For Fun Challenges this week for the Get Well/Feel Better Challenge!

Happy (early) Father's Day

Yesterday I shared my Grad card (scroll down for that post)
so Today I am sharing my Dad project.

I made 2 of these last year for my dad and my boyfriend's dad for Father's Day.
These are the small paint cans available at your local craft store.

I put a ribbon tab on the lid to be able to lift the lid without flipping the whole can over.
Then we put a cream circle under the lid to write a personal message to our dads.

I loved this paper I found at Archiver's. It was double sided so one side is the argyle and the other was different vintage looking squares with horses, golf or other "guy" things.

We filled the tins with our dad's favorite candy or snack. His dad: Andy's Mints. My dad: pretzles.

Hope this inspires you to make something great for the guy in your life.
