The Hood!

I'm back today continuing with pages I have done for my co-worker. Also, these are not counting towards my June goaks since I did these in May. (but it is counting towards my blog posts!!! LOL)

They call their neighborhood The North Doovys Hood so I made a page to put all those neighborhood cookouts and get togethers.
I used a My Mind's Eye paper pack that I had on hand.

I added some stickles throughout the pages to give some interest

You can see more stickles on the birds. So cute!
I thought this came together very well and the colors are just perfect for summer cookouts and gatherings.
Next week I have layouts for Soccer and Graduation! Make sure to follow me so you don't miss all the updates happening lately :)

Also make sure to stop by my facebook page (link on the left) to get your own custom designed 12x12 page from me!!!

Birthday Card Update

Well I have to say, sticking to my new years resolution was good until April! I have 2 months of cards to catch up on, but here are the cards I sent for February and March!

For my Uncle who loves his tools. I have this wonderful diamond plate embossing folder that I used on a "Mr. Fix It" page and it is my go-to item for guys. The paper is also left over from the same page.

One of my cousins it typical all-boy-dare-devil-motorcycles- and anything that goes fast. So I pulled out the same embossing folder and my aluminum foil tape. I found that at Home Depot by the Duct Tape. Or Tim Holtz sells full sheets of it I think. Then cut the motorcycle from my cricut and it was the perfect card. The happy birthday is from Stampin Up.

I needed something quick and simple for this cousins birthday. I saw something similar to this in a magazine and filed it in the back of my head to use someday. Quick triangles on the cricut, a stampin up birthday phrase and this card was done in no time. Paper from My Mind's Eye, Lime Twist

I adore this paper line from Echo Park. It is called This and That. I usually struggle with manly cards, but these colors are just perfect. This uncle used to be a boyscout so the campground makes sense. and I love to add twine to everything lately!

There are a couple other cards that went out that I didn't get pictures of. So sad! I also have a Mother's Day card I did coming up soon!

Thanks and come again!

Un-Traditional Valentine's Card

Hi again!

I created 3 projects for the Quick Quotes Design Team Application that is due on 1/15/11. I hope some of you are applying too. They are such a great company to work for!

Now that I have sent in my application, I want to share with you the projects I made.

The first thing I made was a Valentine's Card for my boyfriend. Since he is a guy, of course he isn't all into pink and hearts and girly things. When I was at the Mini Meet in Toledo last November, I saw this embellishment sheet from My Mind's Eye > Lost and Found 2 > Breeze > Dream and I thought this would make a cute card for him. Since the main colors are boyish colors it worked perfectly. So then I also bought the 6x6 coordinating paper pack. Here is what I came up with

I loved the papers so much I made a large square card instead of the traditional A2. I inked everything in QQ Blue Hawaiian. I used my Tim Holtz Stamp set Artful Things to add writing to the lined paper and the heart. I know I said my boyfriend wasn't all into pink and hearts but I couldn't do a Valentine's card without a heart on it!! Then I added some stickles to the heart and one of the banners (also from My Mind's Eye)

Here is the inside of the card. This saying is a corner of one of the papers from the pack. Again I inked everything in QQ Blue Hawaiian. I added a border stamp from CTMH That is actually from a Halloween stamp set. And I still have room to write a personal note below.

Come back tomorrow to see the crafty index I made for myself. You can see the one I made for my mom here.

I am also entering this in The Paper Players Challenge: All You Need is Love

Owl be Thinking of You

Hi everyone! Not feeling the best today but I still managed to get this card done today. I am sending it to the owner of Quick Quotes. She had double knee surgery last week. So as sick as I feel today, I knew I had to do this card to send to her tomorrow. QQ says she is doing well.

I am entering this card in a couple of challenges. Over at Wee Memories they are holding a theme challenge. It is Woodland Animals. I don't have any of their stamps (yet) but I do have the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge so I cut a super cute owl to use. I combined that theme with the sketch from The Paper Players.

I used some paper from My Mind's Eye Fly a Kit line. I have a 6x6 paper pad for use on cards. Like I said, the owl and branch are cut from Create a Critter. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border around the striped paper.

I cut out a couple of the clouds out from an extra piece of cloud paper and attached them using pop dots to the side.

Thanks for checking out my card. I hope Patsy likes it. I had fun making it for her :)

Until Next Time
~Liz
