Guest Designer With Craftin Desert Divas

I am posting today as a guest designer for Craft It Up & Link It Up Linky Party hosted by Tara of Craftin Desert Divas! Every other Monday will mark the beginning of a new semi-weekly linky party and you could win fabulous prizes!!

This linky party theme is Back to School!

The sponsor is Candice Fields - to win the Wildflower Bundle from Stampin Up! You get the stamp set and embossing folder. and My Scrap Chick is giving away a $10 giftcard!!

The more you link up, the better chance you have to win.  Visit Craftin Desert Divas for all the rules and to play along.

Here is what I created for this linky party....

I used Bo Bunny's older Learning Curve paper line. I love the deeper colors instead of the bright primary for a change.

I made a hidden journaling tag. There is a piece of leather scrap that you pull on. The "ABC" square I made as a pocket.

Here is a detail of the library card layer. I crumpled it up and tore it slightly. Then I inked it (and everything else on the page) with Quick Quotes Mocha Mama Powder Puff Inks.

Hope you will Craft It Up & Link It Up!!!

Countdown to Christmas - 4 days!! with MCCR

Welcome back!

What a perfect theme for today since we are getting hit with our first snow storm here in Ohio!

Today with My Cricut Craft Room, we are doing a winter theme!

I made these gift card holders using Teresa Collins December 25th.
I cut all the different snowflakes at 2 inches. I covered the holder on the left with Tim Holtz Tissue Wrap and the one on the left with Tim Holtz Tissue Tape. Added a little bit of stickles and they are done!

I love these quick easy but beautiful techniques.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend!!

Shape Card with Just a Scrappin

Welcome back!

This weeks challenge with Just A Scrappin is to

Make a card that is not square or rectangle!!

Here is my take:
I adore the way this turned out. A perfect card for my boyfriend's grandma if you ask me :)

Here is how I did it:

I cut a bell from the Teresa Collins December 25 Cricut Cart (I believe it was about 4inches) and taped it to the top edge of a folded piece of cardstock the color I wanted my card base to be. Make sure you let some of the top of the design hang off to keep part of the fold intact. This is what will hold your front and back together!

Trace around and take the "template" (the blue piece) off.

Cut on the lines making sure to leave a little piece of the folded edge of your card intact
And that it! Super simple!

Here is what it looks like open

Then just decorate as you want :)
I used the Teresa Collins December 25 cartridge again for all of the cuts on the front of the card. I added some silver stickles on the Joy to give it more interest. There are also red stickles on the holly berries.
The bottom of the bell is Melisa Frances silver glass glitter. Its super chunky and I love it!

Then I just put a simple stamp on the inside.

I hope you join us this week! I would love to see your take on this great challenge at Just A Scrappin!!

Countdown to Christmas - 14 days!! with MCCR

Welcome back!!
OMG, only 14 more days! I better start my Christmas cards soon!! lol.

Today's theme with My Cricut Craft Room is to

Use a Licensed Cartridge!

I have been trying to stick with a Christmas/Winter theme for this month's projects so Hello Kitty Friends was a perfect choice!

These are more gift card holders made for the office craft show using Stampin Up's Top Note Die.

Both cricut cuts are cut at 2.5 inches. Pretty small to work with, but my holders were small. Ideally I wish these would have been closer to 3.5 inches to make it easier. The snowman wasn't bad, but hello kitty was lots of little pieces. But of course she came out wonderfully.

I hope you enjoy and this gives you some motivation to pull out the carts you forgot had Christmas stuff on them!!

Non-Traditional Christmas with Just a Scrappin

Welcome back!

This week with Just A Scrappin' we are doing

Non-Traditional Christmas Cards
no green and no red!!

Love it! I didn't do a card, I made a gift card holder. Lots of those again this year.
The base is cut from Stampin' Up's Top Note Die. You fold your paper in half and line is up so that the folded edge is inside the cut line (so it doesn't cut) and you get a cute little folder. Just remember to make a pocket for the inside!

I decided on a neutral color pallet for my card. The stamps are from Stampin Up, Dasher and Christmas Greetings. I stamped them in Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink and used the same ink to ink the edges of the cream cardstock. The square with Dasher on it is also glimmer misted in Crocheted Doily (though it is hard to see in the picture). I added some brown fiber and ribbon from my stash and a piece of Cappuccino twine.  Add 3 dots of gold stickles and we are done!

I hope you join us in this week's challenge!! Have a great weekend
:)
